EAST CHEZZETCOOK, N.S. – Nova Scotia’s Serious Incident Response team is investigating after a man injured a bone around his eye while avoiding arrest near East Chezzetcook, N.S. on Friday.

RCMP say the 33-year-old man ran from police after he was pulled over following a complaint about an impaired driver with what was believed to be a firearm. He broke his orbital after he fled into a wooded area.

He was found, arrested and taken into hospital where the break was discovered.

Due to the nature of the suspect’s injury, the matter was handed over to SIRT.
