A Halifax teen will soon be rubbing elbows with the biggest names in the music industry, thanks to the Children’s Wish Foundation.
Cynthia Ghosn was diagnosed with B-Cell Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma at the age of 14. Now 17, the music enthusiast submitted a wish to attend the 58th annual Grammy Awards in Los Angeles next month.
“I’m really interested in music and … what’s better than a place you could see all the stars, instead of just picking out one star to meet, so I thought that might be the best idea,” says Ghosn.
“It’s going to be really exciting because my brother and sister are also really interested in music so I guess we can all do something we can enjoy together.”
The Children’s Wish Foundation has granted her wish, not only scoring Ghosn and her entire family tickets to the star-studded event, but also to red carpet and official after-party.
“We’re going to be able to go to the after-party, the Grammy after-party, which is another plus,” says Ghosn, who learned the exciting news Wednesday.
“It’s already so amazing being able to travel to L.A. and go there, but this is just another ‘oomph.’ I’m so excited.”
With artists like Adele, Kendrick Lamar and Carrie Underwood expected to take the stage, the Grammys highlight the top musical talent in Hollywood. Ghosn says she’s excited to see one artist, in particular.
“Hopefully Drake will be there, I’m a huge fan of him,” says the teen. “Right now he’s my favourite…it would be amazing if he performs. I will be in a dream world, I’m so excited.”
The 58th annual Grammy Awards will take place at the Staples Center on Feb. 15.
