A Maritime casino is offering free taxi rides to and from the slots for the next month.
Casino New Brunswick and four Moncton-area taxi companies have partnered with M.A.D.D. (Mothers Against Drunk Driving) for the campaign, which began earlier this week.
The program runs until July 10 for anybody aged 19 and over.
People who want to take advantage of the service are being asked to call one of the participating cab companies which include the White Cab Company, Air Cab Ltd., Ali Baba Taxi and Blue Taxi.
The passenger is then supposed to tell the taxi cab dispatcher they're going to Casino New Brunswick. The cab driver will provide a voucher to be filled out and handed to casino security at the facility's entrance.
The casino says they'll cover a maximum of $25 per trip. The process is repeated when the person is ready to leave the casino.
The cab companies will shuttle patrons to and from Casino New Brunswick within a 20 kilometre radius.
The casino and MADD say their partnership will encourage people to get a safe ride home while spreading a message about the importance of not drinking and driving.
