A collision involving 16 vehicles has shut down a section of Nova Scotia’s Highway 125 in Cape Breton.
Police and emergency crews responded to the crash in Leitches Creek, N.S. Friday morning.
Police say seven vehicles collided and an additional nine vehicles left the road as a result.
No one was seriously injured but some people were taken to hospital as a precaution.
Highway 125 is closed between exits 2 and 3 as police investigate and clear the scene.
Police say road conditions are dangerous and they are asking motorists to stay off the roads if possible.
“The road and weather conditions are very poor,” said RCMP Const. Barry Forrest. "If you don't need to be out there, please consider staying put until the weather clears".
