A pair of seniors in New Brunswick escaped unharmed after a fire ripped through their two-storey home Wednesday afternoon.

The fire started around 1 p.m. in a home just outside of Saint-Quentin.

Emergency officials say the couple, who are in their 70’s, escaped the flames, but there was significant damage to their home.

The couple is staying with relatives for now, and the Red Cross is helping out with food and clothing.

Officials say there is no word yet on a cause.
