Seven years have passed since a hunter discovered the remains of an Annapolis Valley woman in the woods near Wolfville, N.S.
Leslie Ann Conrad, 45, was reported missing from her Wolfville home by her brother on Oct. 5, 2006.
A hunter discovered her body in a shallow grave off a wooded road in Robinson Corner, roughly seven kilometers south of her home, several weeks later.
No one has ever been charged in the case and on Thursday, one of her four children issued a statement on behalf of the family, asking people to come forward.
“Seven years ago today the glimmer of hope that she was still here was ripped away. For the six weeks previous the idea was still possible…unlikely, but possible. But with news that her body had been found, that hope was no more,” said Conrad in the statement.
“She was a loving and caring mother, sister, daughter, and friend taken from us too soon. Today we plead for justice. We ask that if you know something, come forward. Help bring us peace, and closure.”
Kings District RCMP say the investigation into Conrad’s murder is still active.
The case was added to the Nova Scotia Rewards for Major Unsolved Crimes program in 2008.
