RCMP in Nova Scotia are asking for the public's assistance in solving a five-year-old homicide in Wolfville.
Leslie Ann Conrad, a 45-year-old mother of four, was last seen by her husband on October 5, 2006. Police say he went to school to pick up their son around 2:45 p.m. and when they returned home, Conrad was gone.
She has not been seen nor heard from since that day.
"On October 5, 2006 her life and ours changed forever when she disappeared without a trace," said her family in a statement released Tuesday.
"Hope dissolved into fear as the days stretched into weeks until on November 22 we were informed she had been murdered. Words do not exist to express the pain and grief which followed."
Police say a hunter discovered Conrad's body in a shallow grave off a wooded road in Robinson Corner, roughly seven kilometers south of her home.
Investigators are still searching for Conrad's killer and they are asking the public to come forward with information on the case.
Her family is also making a plea for information.
"The community has stood by our family in many ways and we appreciate every gesture of support offered," they said in a statement. "The loss of mother, daughter, sister, aunt and precious friend Leslie Ann (Barron) Conrad cannot be undone. But we are here today hoping that someone has information which will lead to solving this case."
"Please come forward if you think you might know something which could be helpful."
