Halifax police say an Emergency Health Services kit stolen from a paramedic station in Spryfield, N.S. has been recovered.

Paramedics were inside the EHS station on Hartlen Avenue when someone entered the station and stole the ambulance equipment bag before 9 p.m. Tuesday.

Police say the suspect fled the scene on foot.

The bag contained drugs used to treat serious heart conditions and breathing issues, among other ailments.

Police warned that ingesting or injecting the drugs could result in internal bleeding, a dangerous increase in blood pressure or an irregular heartbeat.

Officers located the bag in the Fairview area at 11:30 p.m. Wednesday. They say the bag was checked and no drugs were missing.

It has since been turned over to EHS.
