A taxi driver has been charged with sexual assault for a second time, in relation to an alleged incident that occurred on June 4th in Halifax.

The man was previously charged in relation to a separate sexual assault that occurred on July 9th in Halifax.

On Wednesdayafternoon, 44-year-old Milad Houssen turned himself into Halifax Regional Police and was arrested immediately.

In the first reported incident on July 9th, Halifax police responded to a report that a taxi driver had kissed and touched a 20-year-old woman in a sexual manner without her consent.

The alleged victim and the taxi driver were located by police on Barrington Street a short time later, where the taxi driver was taken into custody.

As a result of the investigation, the man was charged with sexual assault.

Following the investigation of the first incident, the same man was identified as a suspect in a second case of sexual assault that occurred at approximately 1 a.m. on June 4th.

The taxi driver was in the area of Grafton and Blowers Streets, when he picked up a 25-year-old female passenger, and allegedly touched her in a sexual manner before dropping her off at the requested stop.

Houssen is scheduled to appear in court on September 8th in relation to the July 9th incident. On September 27th he will appear in court again to face an additional charge of sexual assault in relation to the June 4th incident.
