The trial of a 23-year-old man accused of killing a pizza delivery driver over a previous dispute is expected to start Monday.
Donald Chad Smith, 27, was fatally shot outside a building on Joseph Young Street in Dartmouth on Oct. 23, 2010.
Police allege Smith was lured to the building by two men.
Randy Desmond Riley of Dartmouth and Nathan Tremain Johnson of Cherry Brook, N.S., were arrested in July 2013 and charged with first-degree murder in Smith’s death.
Police said Smith, a father of two, had just started delivering pizzas for a local restaurant and that the pizza was ordered from an outdoor payphone.
Investigators believe Smith was killed over an earlier dispute with the two men charged in his death.
Johnson’s trial is expected to begin Monday while Riley will appear in court at a later date.
