Kate Walker
Kate Walker is no longer with CTV Atlantic.
CTV Atlantic’s Kate Walker is a videographer based in Moncton.
Growing up in Halifax, Kate played competitive basketball and studied French immersion until Grade 11. At that time, she moved to Costa Rica to take part in a year-long exchange program. Kate attended a public school in Alajuela and lived with a local family. It was there that she became trilingual, becoming fluent in Spanish, in addition to English and French.
When Kate graduated from high school she moved to London, Ont. There she attended Western University and earned a degree in Media, Information and Technoculture. Kate also received a diploma in Broadcast Journalism from Fanshawe College, where she won the Bayshore Broadcasting Corporation Newscaster of the Year Award.
In 2014, Kate began her career in journalism as an autocue operator at CTV Atlantic in Halifax. She quickly took on other roles in the newsroom, including production assistant and digital content editor.
Kate then headed to Toronto, where she worked as a news chase producer and writer for CTV News Channel, as well as a writer for CP24 Toronto’s Breaking News, and as a news anchor for 680 News Radio.
In July 2018, Kate returned home to the Maritimes and CTV Atlantic to begin a career as a videographer in Moncton.
