HALIFAX - The lawyer for a man who accused Ernest Fenwick MacIntosh of abusing him as a boy says his client plans to speak publicly about his case.
The man, Weldon MacIntosh-Reynolds, applied yesterday for a publication ban on his name to be lifted.
The application was granted in Nova Scotia Supreme Court.
MacIntosh-Reynolds, who is now 56 years old, was one of three complainants who accused MacIntosh of abusing them in the 1970s.
His lawyer, Blair Mitchell, says his client wanted the ban on his name lifted so he could speak openly.
Ernest Fenwick MacIntosh was found guilty in July 2010 on 13 charges of indecent assault and gross indecency.
He was sentenced to four years in prison in his first trial, and later sentenced to 18 months in jail on separate sex-related charges involving other boys in the 1970s.
Earlier this month, the Court of Appeal overturned all convictions, ruling he was not brought to trial in a reasonable time.
