Halifax police have arrested one of two suspects wanted in connection with a violent home invasion, but a second suspect remains at large.

Police located 21-year-old Anthony Michael Leadley inside a home in the 100 block of Windmill Road in Dartmouth around 6 p.m. Wednesday.

Leadley was arrested  without incident and taken into custody.

He is due to appear in Halifax provincial court on Feb. 21 to face 23 charges, including attempted murder and a number of weapons offences, in connection with the home invasion.

Police responded to an apartment in the 100 block of Forbes Street in Spryfield after 10 p.m. Tuesday.

They say two men – one armed with a gun – had broken into the apartment and confronted the occupants.

The suspects chased a man out of the apartment and police say at least two shots were fired.

The suspects then fled the scene.

No one was injured.

A Canada-wide arrest warrant was issued yesterday for Leadley and 20-year-old Christian Enang Clyke in connection with the incident.

Leadley remains in custody but Clyke is still at large and is considered armed and dangerous.

Clyke is described as a black man with brown hair and brown eyes. He is six-feet-tall and 150 pounds.

Citizens are warned not to approach Clyke if spotted, but to call police.

Police don’t believe the home invasion was a random act as the suspects and victims are known to one another.
