A 51-year-old man is dead after a shooting involving a police officer in northern New Brunswick.
Bathurst Police were conducting an investigation at the local Via Rail station when a man was shot by an officer just before noon on Monday.
“The male suspect was brought to Chaleur Regional Hospital where he was pronounced dead,” said Bathurst Police Chief Eugene Poitras.
The scene at the train station and part of nearby Thornton Avenue remained closed Monday evening.
The investigation has been turned over to the Nova Scotia RCMP.
