FREDERICTON - The New Brunswick government is accepting applications from parents of diabetic children seeking funding to pay for insulin pumps.

The program is open to children 18 years old and younger.

Health Minister Madeleine Dube says applications will be assessed to determine the family's contribution based on its income and size.

To be eligible, applicants must have a medicare number, have Type 1 diabetes and be a permanent resident of New Brunswick.

Applications are available on the Health Department's website.

A calculator is also available online to help families determine their share of the cost.
