Police have identified a teenage boy killed in a two-vehicle collision in Halifax Friday afternoon.
Halifax Regional Police were called to the scene on Northwest Arm Drive around 3:15 p.m. after a car and a pickup collided on the overpass with Highway 102.
Police say Caleb Doary was turning left towards Fairview when his vehicle was struck by a pickup truck heading south on Northwest Arm Drive.
The 17-year-old Brookside teen was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the pickup truck was not injured.
Police say the collision remains under investigation and they are asking to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the incident.
Meanwhile, flags are flying at half-mast at Halifax West High School, where Doary was a student.
Guidance counsellors, staff and administrators were at the school Sunday to provide space and support for students as they cope with their classmate’s death.
