A teenage boy has died following a two-vehicle collision on Northwest Arm Drive in Halifax.

Halifax Regional Police were called to the scene around 3:15 p.m. after a car and a pickup collided on the overpass with Highway 102.

The 17-year-old male driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene. He was the only person inside the vehicle. His name is not being released at this time.

The driver of the pickup truck was not injured.

Police say Northwest Arm Drive is closed to traffic northbound between Walter Havill Drive and Highway 102.

Traffic heading southbound on Dunbrack Street is also being redirected to Highway 102 inbound via Exit 1K.

Traffic restrictions are expected to remain in place for several hours.

The incident remains under investigation.
