Halifax Regional Police and Nova Scotia RCMP are investigating five separate bomb threats that happened in the Halifax area early Sunday morning.

Halifax District RCMP say the first bomb threat came in shortly before 1:30 a.m.

Police say they received a call from an anonymous man who claimed he was in the parking lot of Cole Harbour Place with bombs and a hunting rifle.

The area surrounding Forest Hills Parkway was immediately blocked off by police, but nothing was found.

Halifax Regional Police say another bomb threat came in around 2 a.m. through an automated phone message from an anonymous person, this time directed at Dalhousie University.

While officers were on the scene, another threat was the reported at Saint Mary’s University – also by an anonymous person.

Seven minutes later, officers received a bomb threat at the Halifax Public Library.

Around the same time, Halifax District RCMP received an automated phone message indicating there was a bomb at Halifax Stanfield International Airport.

Nothing suspicious was found at any of the locations.

Police did not say whether they have any suspects.
