RCMP in New Brunswick have released the name of a man killed in a triple-shooting incident in Baxters Corner Saturday night.

Police responded to a home on Raymond Drive around 6 p.m. where they found three men suffering from gunshot wounds.

They say 31-year-old Ryan A. Firlotte of Baxters Corner died shortly after.

The two other victims were rushed to Saint John Hospital where they remain. They are expected to survive.

Investigators later determined the shooting took place at a location about a kilometre away on Route 820, and not at the home on Raymond Drive where the men were found.

They arrested a 35-year-old Baxters Corner man in connection with the shooting shortly after the incident but he has since been released without charges.

Police say they later determined the man was violently assaulted by two men in the Saint John area earlier in the day.

A few hours later, investigators say two vehicles arrived at a home on Route 820. Three armed men were in one of the vehicles, an altercation ensued, and all three men were struck by bullets.

Investigators are now trying to determine who was in the second vehicle, described as a dark-coloured sport utility vehicle.

Police say all four men involved were known to each other and that the shooting was not a random incident.

Meanwhile, police say 28-year-old Jeffrey Defazio appeared in a Saint John courthouse Tuesday in connection with the assault earlier in the day Saturday.

Anyone with information regarding the second vehicle is asked to contact police.
