The Halifax Regional Municipality has closed several streets in Halifax to aid crews with snow removal.

The following streets will be closed until 8:00 p.m. on Sunday to allow heavy equipment to load snow into trucks and haul it away.

- Oxford St. between Quinpool Rd. and South St.

- North St. between Windsor St. and Barrington St.

- Almon St. between Connaught Ave. and Gottingen St.

- Young St. between Robie St. and Agricola St.

- Connaught Ave. between Bayers Rd. and Windsor St.

All buses that use these streets will be operating on detoured routes until the streets reopen.

Residents are also reminded that the 24-hour restriction on all on-street parking remains in effect until further notice. Any vehicles that are on the streets will be ticketed or towed.

Halifax Transit will also be extending free bus and ferry services into Monday due to the ongoing parking ban.
