The RCMP say a Shelburne County man facing child pornography and weapons charges has been reported missing.

Police executed a search warrant in East Green Harbour, N.S. Tuesday morning and seized three computers, four external hard drives and ten firearms.

As a result of the investigation, police arrested and charged Charles Cecil Slate with possession of child pornography, accessing child pornography, making available child pornography and unsafe storage of a firearm.

The 44-year-old East Green Harbour man was released from custody on Tuesday and police say he has since disappeared.

Slate was last seen on Highway 3 in East Green Harbour, headed toward Highway 103, around 5:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Police say Slate does not have a prior criminal history and his family is concerned about his current state of mind. They also say the concern is for Slate’s own safety, and not that of the public’s.

Slate is five-foot-five and weighs 134 pounds. He has brown hair and blue eyes.

He was last seen wearing camouflage pants, a plaid zip-up jacket and rubber boots. Police say he drivers a red, four-door 2010 Hyundai Elantra with Nova Scotia licence plate DJT 365.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to contact police.
