Fire has caused extensive damage to part of a three-storey building in downtown Fredericton.
Platoon Captain Mike Mizner with the Fredericton Fire Department tells Bell Media Radio that crews were called to Brunswick Street just after 2:30 p.m. Saturday.

Mizner says the building has a business on the first and second floor, and one apartment on the third floor.
The building, located between Carleton and Regent streets, is home to the New Brunswick Right to Life group.
Mizner says they believe the fire started on the third floor and worked its way into the attic, though the cause is still under investigation.
