A student at the University of New Brunswick in Fredericton has been diagnosed with tuberculosis.
In a statement, the university says the student lives in residence, is currently receiving treatment and is recovering well.
UNB says it’s working with Public Health to create a list of people who could have come in contact with the affected person.
TB doesn’t easily transmit from person to person, it requires very close and prolonged contact. Most people exposed to TB bacteria do not develop TB disease.
