Another roof has collapsed under the weight of the snow, and this time, at a rink with people working inside.

It happened around 3 p.m. at the Newport and District Arena in Brooklyn, near Windsor, Nova Scotia.

One end of the roof appears to have caved in, and photos show the walls are also buckling.

Employees inside the building heard creaking sounds and left the arena.

Fire crews are on scene and plan to do a controlled release of ammonia from the ice making system as early as 7 p.m.

Officials say exactly when that happens will depend on the wind direction.

Evacuations of nearby homes may be necessary, which will also depend on the wind direction.
