A Sunwing flight was forced to make an emergency landing at the Halifax Stanfield International Airport this morning, just minutes after takeoff.
Flight 9581 left Halifax and was headed for Cancun when crew members determined there was something wrong with the plane’s front engine.
Pilots declared a mayday, turned the airplane around and landed safely at the airport at approximately 4:50 a.m.
There were seven Sunwing crew members on board the aircraft, but no commercial passengers.
No injuries or damages were reported.
Mechanics and engineers are inspecting the aircraft.
