Police say a 50-year-old man is in critical condition and another is injured following a single-vehicle collision on Highway 207 in Seaforth, N.S.

Police responded to the scene, near civic address 5585, shortly after 10:30 a.m. Friday.

They say the vehicle left the highway and ended up on its roof in a ditch filled with water.

Police issued a press release before noon, saying that one man had been confirmed dead in the crash.

However, RCMP Cpl. Scott MacRae confirmed to CTV News Friday afternoon that the man was revived on the way to the hospital.

He was first taken to the Dartmouth General Hospital and then transferred to the Queen Elizabeth II Health Sciences Centre. He remains in hospital in critical condition with life-threatening injuries.

A male passenger was also taken to hospital. He has since been treated and released.

A section of Highway 207 remains closed while police investigate the scene.

The cause of the collision is under investigation.
