FREDERICTON -- A 54-year-old man who was hurt outside a Fredericton bar on Saturday has died in hospital in Saint John.
Fredericton Police Const. Danielle Carmichael says Walter "Buddy" Wheeler of Fredericton died late Wednesday at the Saint John Regional Hospital.
She says Wheeler was involved in an assault outside the Twenty/20 Club on Regent Street in Fredericton in the early morning hours on Saturday.
Carmichael says Wheeler suffered serious head injuries.
On Monday, Fredericton police issued a request for information from anyone who may have witnessed the incident around 2 a.m. Saturday.
Carmichael says the investigation indicates there may have been a second victim involved in the altercation, and police are urging that person to come forward.
