A man is facing multiple charges in connection with a recent robbery, stabbing and assault in eastern New Brunswick.

Officers with the District 5 RCMP were called to a home in Upper Rexton on Friday after two armed men allegedly broke into the home and stabbed a 36-year-old man.

Police say a 43-year-old woman and a 13-year-old girl were also assaulted in the home invasion and the suspects fled the scene with prescription drugs and cash.

Police say the woman and the teen were treated at the hospital and released, while the injured man remains in hospital in stable condition.

Officers arrested two men in connection with the incident on Sunday.

Alexander Peters of Elsipogtog is facing charges of robbery with a weapon, aggravated assault and breach of recognizance and police say further charges may be laid against the 25-year-old man.

The second suspect, whom police have not named, has been remanded into custody and charges are pending.
