A New Brunswick man is facing charges after he allegedly pointed a gun at two people on the Elsipogtog First Nation.

RCMP responded to a weapons call on Bridge Road shortly after 6 p.m. Tuesday.

They executed a search warrant on a vehicle involved in the incident, from which they seized a firearm.

Andrew Samuel Gitputjitj Nevin of Elsipogtog has been charged with two counts of pointing a firearm.

The 25-year-old also faces charges of assault with a weapon involving two other victims, in connection with two unrelated incidents alleged to have taken place in Elsipogtog on Nov. 11.

Yesterday, Nevin appeared briefly in Moncton provincial court and was remanded into custody.

He is due back in court for a bail hearing later today.

Police say the investigation is ongoing and more charges may be laid.
