BATH, N.B. - RCMP in western New Brunswick have not said whether a man found dead following a weekend standoff was carrying any weapons.

The body of 45-year-old Anthony Armour was discovered Saturday morning outside a home near Bath.

Police negotiators were called to the area the night before in connection with a man barricaded inside a house.

Hours later, the Mounties say fires broke out at two nearby sheds.

A third fire destroyed the home a short while later.

The Mounties say police thought Armour had fled the area but later found his body near the home.

An autopsy has been ordered.

It's not clear what caused the standoff.
