FREDERICTON -- Police in New Brunswick say no charges will be laid after an eight-year-old boy was fatally hit by a vehicle while playing on his front lawn.

Jackson Wright was outside of his home in Fredericton on June 14 of last year when he was hit by an out-of-control vehicle.

He was taken to hospital, but died from his injuries.

Investigators say the driver of the vehicle, a 44-year-old woman, and other witnesses were interviewed by police.

Police say they consulted with the Crown's office and determined that no charges will be laid.

They say the investigation has concluded.
