HALIFAX -- An Ontario woman faces 14 fraud-related charges after being arrested at a Halifax bank.

Police say they were called to a Royal Bank of Canada branch Wednesday after staff became suspicious of a customer.

Police allege the 42-year-old woman was trying to access someone else's bank account by using fake identification.

They also allege the woman successfully defrauded other banks earlier in the day.

Tammy Jacqueline McDermaid of Mississauga, Ont., faces three counts of using forged documents, two counts of identity fraud, six counts of identity theft to gain advantage and three counts of fraud over $5,000.

Police say more charges are expected.
