New Brunswick's David Alward has enlisted the help the prime minister as the premier rallies support for a bid to have the Bay of Fundy named as one of the wonders of the natural world.

Alward and Stephen Harper met in Ottawa on Tuesday to talk about getting people to vote online for the bay as it competes in the New7Wonders of Nature competition.

The Bay of Fundy is Canada's only finalist in the contest.

There are 28 finalists in all, including the Amazon, the Galapagos Islands, the Grand Canyon and the Great Barrier Reef.

The voting deadline is Nov. 11.
