MONCTON, N.B. -- The court case for a New Brunswick woman charged with the discovery of her newborn son in a snowbank in 2009 has been delayed until after the new year.
Christine Margaret Wood is charged with offering an indignity to human remains and concealing the body of a child.
Defence lawyer Scott Fowler told provincial court in Moncton that the Crown is still considering additional charges, so more time is required before his client could enter a plea.
Wood and the Crown lawyer handling the case were not present in court.
The boy's body was discovered on a remote logging road near Monteagle, N.B., in April 2009.
The baby is legally known as Baby Boy Doe but became known as Baby Taylor in the weeks after his body was discovered based on the name of the road where he was found.
Provincial court Judge Camille Vautour has adjourned the case until Jan. 15.
