Halifax police say Jonathan Chigier has been found dead in his vehicle on a back road in Mount Uniacke, N.S.
The 48-year-old from Bedford was reported missing on Dec. 19 by his family. He had left home in his Honda CRV to visit friends on Dec. 18 but never arrived at his destination.
Police say a woman found a snow-covered vehicle on a back road in Mount Uniacke on Tuesday afternoon and called RCMP. Chigier’s body was found inside.
In a statement posted to Facebook, the Chigier family thanked everyone for their help in the search, saying: “The outpouring of caring and the unbridled need for people to help us through the many days of not knowing by searching, driving, and offering words of hope, encouragement and prayer has carried us as a family through these grim and incomprehensible times.”
Foul play is not suspected.
