The RCMP are asking for the public’s help as they try to identify a woman whose remains were found in the Aroostook River in Tinker, N.B.

Police say the woman’s body was found in the river at the Tinker Dam shortly after 10:30 a.m. Sunday. No personal belongings or pieces of identification were found.

RCMP forensic identification experts were called to the scene to assist with the investigation. An autopsy is scheduled to be performed Monday.

Investigators are now looking at missing persons reports to see if any match the woman’s description.
