A former Nova Scotia businessman convicted of sexually assaulting young boys in the 1970s has been released on bail as he awaits the results of an appeal.
Ernest Fenwick MacIntosh was convicted last July of 13 sex crimes against two boys. He was found guilty on 13 of 26 charges of indecent assault and gross indecency and was sentenced to four year in prison.
He appealed that decision and was released to await a second trial.
Then the 68-year-old was found guilty on four additional charges involving two other victims in January.
He has also chosen to appeal that decision and was released Monday by the Nova Scotia Court of Appeal. He has been ordered to stay under house arrest,
MacIntosh must abide by a strict set of conditions, including turning in his passport and having no contact with anyone under the age of 14.
