An alleged road rage incident in Halifax has resulted in a man being sent to hospital with stab wounds.

Halifax Regional Police responded to a call at 1:40 p.m. on Monday of a fight between two male drivers as they drove down North West Arm Drive.

Police say one of the drivers got out of his car and began punching the other driver, who also had his wife and child in the car.

The man being punched started to drive away, then stopped when he noticed the other man had fallen to the ground.

The man who had fallen then got up and ran at the vehicle and began punching the driver once again through the window, according to police.

The man in his car then stabbed the other man in the arm.

Both men suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were taken to hospital.

Police say charges are expected.
