TRURO, N.S. -- Police in Nova Scotia say two patients of a mental health facility in Ontario who went missing nearly two weeks ago have been seen in Truro.

Truro police say they believe 39-year-old Joseph Pepin and 37-year-old Cara Duval, also known as Cara Donnelly, were seen at two locations in the town on Monday.

Investigators say they were spotted at a library and then at another location as they were looking for help getting an apartment.

Police say they were not recognized until the person who reported them watched the news.

The pair did not return to the North Bay Regional Health Centre's Mental Health and Law program after they were permitted off-unit privileges on Jan. 22.

Since then, they have also been seen in New Brunswick, with police saying they tried to rent an apartment in Doaktown.

Officers say the two could be dangerous and should not be approached.

Duval is five-foot-one, weighs 117 pounds, has brown eyes and brown shoulder-length hair usually kept in a ponytail.

Pepin is six-feet, 174 pounds with brown hair and blue eyes.
