A 41-year-old man has been charged in connection with two deaths in western New Brunswick eight years ago.

The RCMP say Robert Lawrence Winmill is facing two counts of accessory after the fact to murder. Police laid the charges against Winmill on Tuesday.

The charges stem from the 2004 deaths of Jessie Jo Finnamore and Jeffrey John Shannon in the Bath area and police say two other people are serving time in prison in connection with the deaths.

Charlene Mary Rideout Winmill was convicted of second-degree murder in each case while Jonathan Finnamore was sentenced to prison for the second-degree murder of Jeffrey John Shannon.

Police say Winmill is accused of helping Charlene Rideout Winmill to escape prosecution.

Winmill is currently serving time at the Atlantic Institution in Renous on an unrelated matter and is due to appear in court in Woodstock on January 10.

Meanwhile, police say the investigation into the death of Jessie Jo Finnamore is ongoing as they believe another person, or people, may have been involved in her death.
