The Nova Scotia RCMP is renewing calls for clues 10 years after the murder of a Kings County woman.
Leslie Ann Conrad, 45, was last seen alive at her home in Lower Wolfville on Oct. 5, 2006. At the time, her husband said she had gone out for a walk and never came home. Her brother reported her missing the next day.
A hunter discovered Conrad’s remains in a shallow grave near Robinsons Corner, roughly eight kilometers south of her home, on Nov. 22, 2006.
Conrad’s husband, Kevin Conrad, was arrested in connection with her murder in May 2007, but he was later released without charges.
No criminal charges have ever been laid in the case.
Police say Conrad’s murder remains under investigation and they are urging anyone with information to come forward.
"The RCMP knows there are individuals out there who can help us piece together what happened to Leslie, and no piece of information is too small,” said RCMP Const. Dayle Burris in a statement.
"Her family and friends deserve to have closure on this terrible event in their lives.”
Conrad’s murder was added to the Nova Scotia Rewards for Major Unsolved Crimes program in 2008. The program offers a cash reward of up to $150,000 for information that leads to an arrest and conviction in certain cases.
