Police say they have found nothing suspicious after a threat was allegedly made at a Halifax elementary school.

Halifax Regional Police responded to John W. MacLeod Elementary on Purcells Cove Road shortly after 8 a.m.

Police say the students were safely relocated to the playground initially, but were later moved to Fleming Tower School due to weather.

Children were allowed back into the school around 10 a.m. and classes have resumed.

A canine unit assisted officers search the school, but police say nothing suspicious was found.

They say the incident remains under investigation.

This is the second time the school has been evacuated due to an alleged threat this year.

Police responded to the school on May 27, but found nothing suspicious.
