A 49-year-old Prince Edward Island man has been charged with impaired driving causing death after a woman was killed in Queens County on the weekend.
Police say 63-year-old Elizabeth Sovis of Alberta was riding her bicycle with her partner Saturday night in Rennies Road when she was struck by a van.
The impact caused Sovis to be thrown from her bike.
Police say the driver of the van initially left the crash scene but returned shortly afterwards.
He was arrested at the scene and underwent a breathalyzer test.
Clarence Arnold Moes has been charged with impaired driving causing death.
Police say Sovis was vacationing on the Island, wore a reflective vest and was following the rules of the road when she was struck.
