CHARLOTTETOWN - RCMP in Prince Edward Island say they aren't releasing the cause of death after autopsies were performed on the bodies of a man and woman found in a car under suspicious circumstances.

Police say they are consulting with other forensic specialists as they continue their investigation.

Thirty-six-year-old Maureen Catherine MacDonnell was found dead in a vehicle parked on the shoulder of Highway 2 in New Annan on Sunday.

Forty-seven-year-old Richard Scott MacLean, who was behind the wheel, died later in hospital.

Police say it was an isolated incident and that there is no risk to the public.
