RCMP in New Brunswick say a 27-year-old Shippagan man is facing a number of sex-related charges.
Jean-Claude Savoie appeared in Caraquet provincial court on Tuesday to face charges of sexual assault, sexual assault with a weapon, assault with a weapon, assault, uttering threats and pointing a firearm.
Police say the charges stem from incidents with a female victim between 2003 and 2006, but didn't release many other details.
Savoie is in custody at the Dorchester Penitentiary. He has not yet entered a plea .
He is due to appear in court on November 1 for a bail hearing.
