A teenager who was struck by a car in a marked crosswalk in Dartmouth last week has died from his injuries.
The 19-year-old man was crossing at the corner of Pleasant and Carleton streets around 9 p.m. on Sept. 24 when he was struck by a vehicle travelling southbound on Pleasant Street.
Police say the 56-year-old driver stopped his vehicle immediately.
The driver was not injured but the pedestrian was rushed to the Queen Elizabeth II Health Sciences Centre with life-threatening injuries.
Police confirm the teen succumbed to his injuries six days after the crash.
No charges have been laid in the case but police are still investigating the incident.
The teen’s name has not been released.
