BADDECK, N.S. – A man from Baddeck is facing multiple charges after a woman was found beaten and barely conscious in her residence.
Cape Breton Regional Police say they responded to a 911 call on August 27. The woman told police she knew her attacker and provided a description of his vehicle, which was later found in Florence, N.S.
Police say 38-year-old Michael Francis Corbett was later arrested without incident. He is facing charges of robbery, aggravated assault and trafficking.
The woman remains in hospital in serious condition.
