ST. CROIX, N.B. -- The RCMP in New Brunswick say the body of a 38-year-old man was recovered Wednesday from Spednic Lake near St. Croix after he fell from an inflatable dinghy on Canada Day.

Police say they received a call shortly before 9 p.m. on Tuesday after he fell into the water.

The RCMP say he was not wearing a life-jacket.

The Mounties say the man did not resurface after falling into the water.

An RCMP dive team recovered the body of Jayson Kenneth Townes of McAdam shortly before noon.
