Moncton and Vancouver are both Canadian cities hosting the 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup, but the similarities between them basically end there.
Moncton has a population of about 70,000 and is located in the Maritimes, while Vancouver boasts roughly 603,500 people and is situated on the West Coast.
However, Fox Sports in the U.S. confused the two cities during its coverage of FIFA, labelling Vancouver as Moncton.
A screengrab of the error has been making the rounds on social media since it appeared on Imgur and Reddit, with Canadians weighing in on the geographical mistake.
Fox Sports just showed a small section of Vancouver's skyline and tried to pass it off as Moncton http://t.co/dIxmG6ktrk via @imgur

One Reddit user suggested the image was Moncton in the year 2150, while another quipped it was more like the year 2500.
Twitter users have also been mocking the mistake:
Hey @FOXSportsLive, that would be Vancouver... Not Moncton. pic.twitter.com/1tCteotpoL

How could Fox News mistake my beloved home town, Moncton, for Vancouver? http://t.co/QMF0woULXv pic.twitter.com/63hzBoAAwn

@VancityBuzz Wicked! Now hopefully this will divert foreign property investment away from Vancouver. #wishfulthinking
