CARLETON, N.B. – Incumbent New Brunswick Premier David Alward has officially become a candidate in this year’s election.

Even though each candidate has been campaigning for weeks, Alward can continue with the party’s official nomination.

In the Carleton riding, over 300 people attended the nomination meeting. Alward used the opportunity to speak out against Brian Gallant’s Liberal spending strategy.

“My opponent wants to spend $88,000 per job, per year,” Alward says. "That’s both crazy and scary at the same time. Even Shawn Graham wouldn’t’ have endorsed that math.”

Alward will be campaigning throughout Southeastern N.B. on Wednesday.

He will then travel to Charlottetown for the 55th Annual Premiers' Conference.
